I am recruiting for a fast-growing European company scaling its technology organization. They have multiple engineering teams working across different product areas but lack consistent engineering culture and standardized processes. They need someone to unify the function and prepare it for the next phase of growth.
VP of Tech
Warsaw, Poland · Hybrid (3 days on-site) · PLN 480,000–600,000
The role
You will manage the heads of three engineering areas and report directly to the CPTO. You are the layer between the executive team and the engineering function. You make sure the teams ship, the standards rise, and the culture improves.
You will standardize how the engineering organization works. That means defining and enforcing engineering culture practices, delivery standards, and operational rhythms across all teams. You will identify what is broken, fix it, and make sure it stays fixed.
You will prepare the organization for transformation. The company is changing how it builds and ships technology. You will lead that preparation, remove blockers, and make sure the teams are ready for what comes next.
You will take end-to-end responsibility across all three engineering areas. When something fails, you own it. When something ships well, you built the system that made it possible.
You will be in the Warsaw office at least 3 days per week. Engineering leadership is a contact sport. Calibration happens in person.
What you need
Experience managing large engineering teams. You have led organizations where multiple teams reported through area leads, and you know how to scale without adding bureaucracy.
A track record of building or repairing engineering culture. You have taken organizations with inconsistent practices and created standards that teams actually follow.
Experience standardizing processes across multiple engineering groups. You have unified how teams plan, review, deploy, and operate.
Comfort with organizational transformation. You have led or prepared engineering teams through significant change, whether that is restructuring, scaling, or technology migration.
End-to-end ownership mindset. You do not delegate accountability. You advise, decide, and take responsibility.
Aspiration toward a CTO role. You want to run technology for a company, and this is your path.
Fluency in English. Polish is a plus.
What you get
PLN 480,000 to 600,000 annually.
A seat on the leadership team with direct access to the CPTO and executive staff
The chance to build the engineering function you wish you had inherited.
Clear path toward a CTO role if you deliver.
High ownership with end-to-end responsibility across all technology delivery.
No "visionary technology leader." No "digital transformation evangelist." No "inspiring the troops." This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who fixes broken culture, standardizes how teams work, and prepares organizations to scale.
If that is you, apply with a short note on the largest engineering organization you have standardized and what was broken when you started.
