Java Developer – Business Process Automation
Java Developer – Business Process Automation: design and run BPMN-driven workflows, build microservices, and translate business needs into clean, reliable code.
We usually respond within a day
You'll design and build workflow automation systems using BPMN/DMN/CMMN modeling, integrate them with other services, and keep them running reliably in production. You'll also talk to non-technical stakeholders regularly, so clear communication matters as much as clean code.
Day to day, you'll be:
Building and maintaining Java-based microservices that power automated workflows
Modeling business processes using BPMN 2.0, DMN, and CMMN
Creating custom workers, connectors, and plugins to meet integration needs
Working with REST APIs, event-driven patterns, and external task handling
Debugging and tuning workflow performance in live environments
Collaborating with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into working solutions
Managing deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, maintaining CI/CD pipelines
You'll need:
3+ years of Java development experience (Java 8+)
Practical experience with a BPM or workflow platform (Camunda, Temporal, or similar)
Solid understanding of microservices architecture
Experience with PostgreSQL or MS SQL (MongoDB is a bonus)
Familiarity with scripting languages like Groovy, JavaScript, or FEEL
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
Confidence communicating technical concepts to non-technical people
This is a role for someone who wants to understand why a process works the way it does, and not just make it run. If that sounds like you, apply and tell us about a workflow problem you've solved.
